Quiet Quran collects nothing.

No tracking, no analytics, no ads. What you read, where you are, your bookmarks and your settings stay on your device.

What the app keeps, and where

These are stored only on your device:

We never receive any of it. Deleting the app deletes it.

Backups

On Android, your settings, sessions and bookmarks can be included in your phone's own backup to your Google account, if you have backups turned on. That backup belongs to you and is handled by Google under its own terms; we can't see it. Printed pages are not backed up.

Reminders

Reading reminders are scheduled by your phone and shown by your phone. Nothing about them is sent anywhere. The app asks for permission to show notifications when you turn a reminder on, or, on Android, the first time you start a recitation, so its player can appear in your notifications and on your lock screen.

Downloads: printed pages and recitation

The Quran text, its layouts and translations are built into the app. Only two things are downloaded: printed page images, when you read or save a printed Mushaf, and recitation audio, when you listen. They are fetched from the servers that host them: our own hosting at pages.quietquran.com for the King Fahd Complex's IndoPak and Madani pages, cdn.quran.ws for the Madani vector pages, and everyayah.com for recitations.

As with any download, those servers see the request: your IP address and which page file is being fetched. The app sends nothing else with it: no identifier and nothing about your reading.

Sharing

When you share an ayah, the app makes the image or text on your device and hands it to the app you choose. What happens next is up to you and that app.

Links

The app's Sources page links to the websites of the sources we credit. Opening a link takes you to that website, which has its own privacy policy.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies. Like any website, its host keeps standard server logs of requests.

If this changes

If we ever add something that works with your data, such as optional syncing through your own Google Drive, it will be off unless you turn it on, and this page will explain it before it arrives.
